FAQs

  • Learning drawing takes some time. The right way to draw is the natural way as Kimon Nicolaїdes said. It’s natural as the impulse to talk. We learn to talk through a simple process of practice, making plenty of mistakes. It’s the vital preparation, the first mouthing of words which means actual things, that parallels the effort a student makes during the first years of drawing studies. It’s just part of the process. My job as a teacher is to make this process fun and interesting.

  • It’s never too late to learn and develop new skills! Yes, this drawing class is for everybody no matter your level. If you have a genuine interest in it and you are motivated then you will enjoy it a lot! Here is a safe place to practise and enjoy the process of discovering your drawing possibilities like when you were a child. With curiosity and imagination. And by the way, you don’t need to draw a straight line to prove your good drawing skills. I don’t know why people keep saying that ♥︎

  • My goal is to exchange the fear of uncertainty with the joy of discovery when you find yourself outside your comfort zone.

You will learn the fundamentals, such as understanding shapes, proportions, shading, and perspective.

You will experiment with different materials and techniques with focus to raise confidence through various drawing approaches including still life, life drawing and portraiture.

  • Learning drawing, is like learning a new language, it’s a form of a visual communication and it’s global. You can visualise your ideas despite borders.

You will practise your observation skills. You become more attentive to details in the world around you. You will start to appreciate more even other forms of visual arts like photography, movies, sculptures, performance etc…

Drawing helps you to focus on the present moment. Can be a non verbal expression of your emotions and an opportunity for contemplation. A form of stress relief and mindfulness.

This exhibition was a celebration of what was created in the Drawing Class last year.

It’s a journey of a study in observation, light and appreciation of the present moment. An open path for self expression and self reflection.

The artists/students worked with charcoal on paper and the technique of monotype.
